SALMA HOLDS HER HANDS UP

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 6 (Vicky 3, Aisha 3)
STONE ARMY 9
LEAGUE MATCH - MARCH 19, 2014

CAPTAIN Salma took full responsibility for the Sharks defeat on Wednesday night.
It was a night to forget for the goalkeeper who was at fault for several goals.
Sharks were forced into a rushed 7pm start after unsuccessfully appealing for a later kick-off (the league should move heaven and earth to help the Sharks who are the only team that plays every week).
Despite not being fully mentally prepared, with some players having not long finished work, the Sharks still made a good start, producing some fine passes and dynamic runs.
GWS had no problem with their finishing, but many an error by Salma proved costly for the side.
Stone Army netted two easy goals before top scorer Vicky introduced her shooting boots! Aisha joined in and scored her first too.
Stone kept on scoring, but Vicky and Aisha also struck and at half time the Sharks were 6-4 down.
HALF-TIME: 4-6
A score yet to chase, but with Camilla and Dee solid at the back and Vicky and Aisha combining well up front, Sharks were still in a chance.
The second half saw Vicky continue to work effectively with Aisha, another goal reducing the deficit to 7-6.
Dee, who had a fantastic game, made a tremendous run from the back to set up Vicky for one excellent goal.
With three minutes left it was anyone's game, but more blunders by Salma allowed Stone to score two more and win the match 9-6.
Vicky and Aisha notched hat-tricks apiece.
Salma's comments:
"Sharks came to perform which they did but with the goalkeeper having a off-day it was always going to be tough to pull back.
"Well played tonight Sharks! Minus my faults you played exceptionally well!
"The brilliant counter-attacks saw us score some great goals and on other occasions go so close.
"The score should have been either 6-6 or even better 6-0 if I wasn't such a knob!
"Nevertheless, love playing with you Sharks and we never fail to put on a show!!
"Other teams loving watching us play and we love being the underdogs.
"However, we still have this season to bond and learn as a unit. Nobody said it's going to be easy but it'll be worth it!
