PREMIERSHIP SEASON 4 2014/15
(walkover)

GREAT White Sharks picked up their first win and points of the Premiership season on a walkover after opponents Pick N Mix failed to show up.
Sharks played a friendly against Championship side Kings Heathens and won 6-3, Aisha scoring four, Hayley one and Dee one.
Fielding only four players, GWS were still too good for their opponents and the result will boost their confidence.
Team: Salma, Hayley, Aisha, Dee.

GREAT EFFORT FROM DEPLETED SHARKS

Hameeda proved what a great player she is

WITH neither Salma, Aisha or Camilla available, Dee had to get together the best team she could on the night.
Hameeda was available, while two newcomers Holly and Hayley also came in to help and did really well.
It was difficult against Bham Futsal Club Ladies as they were a team used to each other, while GWS had never played together with this line up.
Hameeda was the best player on the night, running everywhere and never giving in. Dee was struggling with a chest infection but still gave her all.
Sharks goalscorers were Holly 2, Hayley and Hameeda.
Sharks then played a friendly against Under Estimated and performed much better with the players getting more used to one another.
Hameeda and Dee scored one each and there were two goals from a loan player.

Dee said afterwards:
"For the league game we borrowed a player from the lower league because Aisha couldn't make it due to commitments at home
"We had to beg a player to play because we had only four players. Hayley got her flat mate Holly, who I'd never met or played with, but she stepped in last minute for Camilla.
"The game was solid throughout. We battled hard. The lower league player wasn't that confident in play but helped make the numbers. She stepped in as keeper and fair play to her she put in the effort and saved many Birmingham shots.
"We made some decent passes and showed good defensive play. Hameeda was by far the best player on the night, making great passes and defending effortlessly. She was out to prove by far she's the most fittest player with bags of courage.
"But our lack of practice together meant we struggled hard to intercept passes and understand the opposition's game play as they also had few new players.
"However for the awesome team we are we also took on a friendly with Under Estimated. And that game was where our practice as a team from the first game showed.
"We played amazing, passing effectively, moving fluidly. Passes and movement even they didn't contemplate we could do.
"We borrowed yet another two players from another new team from the lower league who were absolutely amazing, one of which was a keeper for their team.
"With these other players we were much improved. And we did some amazing moves.
"All in all a good night except for the stress and hassle of having to borrow players, but it shows women's love for football is just as much to show as the men and team spirit with or without your own team players is high and anyone will step in to help for a good game."

BIRMINGHAM LADIES FUTSAL LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP - JANUARY 7, 2015

HAPPY New Year everyone!
And it was a good start to 2015 for the Sharks, who may have lost to current leaders and last season's Premiership champions Under Estimated, but gave their best performance so far.
Sharks have never beaten UE, but this was one of the toughest games they have given them.
With captain Salma unavailable, the Sharks lined up: Dee, Aisha, Camilla, Hameeda and Hayley. Camilla went in goal and did a great job.
Dee takes up the action......
"Brilliant intense game. We upped our game and gave as good as we got. Aisha scored an early one straight after Under Estimated's first goal.
Then they scored a few more from a couple of slips by the keeper and mistakes in defence.
I then intercepted a pass from their keeper and took the ball all the way to score my first goal which slipped between the goalie's legs.
They went to score one more before Aisha scored yet another goal from the side angle from a pass by Hayley.
Half-time: 6-3.
Second half....
Under Estimated played a similar game but we improved in defence.
From one of their shots, Camilla came out to save with her knees but was too far out to stop a rebound kick, but then Hameeda slid to save the ball from virtually on the goal-line.
Camilla also did some amazing stops, some of the best ones we've seen.
Aisha went on to score another perfect goal from an angle following a brilliant pass.
Under Estimated then went on to score four more, benefiting from a couple of mistakes.
Then with two minutes left on the clock, a good interception from Hameeda saw the ball roll down the side of the pitch.
Aisha and an Under Estimated player were scrambling for the ball. I ran alongside the ball and Aisha and with good communication she held the player back and pushed me forward to help me finish a brilliant last-minute goal from the side which the keeper didn't see coming."
So a hat-trick for Aisha and two for Dee and a final score of 10-5. UE knew they had been in a game.
Thanks to Dee for a brilliant report.
