THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR SCORING.....

THESE are the boots (well trainers) which are taking the Birmingham Women's Futsal League Premiership by storm this season.
They belong to Vicky Roe, who has netted in the region of 40 goals for the Great White Sharks in just 13 matches.
After a spell with fellow Premiership team The Late Arrivals, Vicky joined the Sharks last season and scored a sensational 33 times.
This season she has a confirmed total of 34 goals, so therefore has already beaten her previous best tally.
However, the Sharks scorers from three matches which produced 14 goals at the start of this season were not recorded, so Vicky definitely has more than 34.
Last Wednesday's match against the Mighty Chicks saw Vicky net a record 11 goals in the Sharks' best ever victory of 21-1.
Vicky's talents are being noticed elsewhere as she also plays outdoor football at weekends and looks set to sign for Atherstone Ladies of the West Midlands Regional League.
Nicknamed the Roadrunner, the Tamworth Terror (she is from Tamworth) and now the Blue Flash, Vicky is a player to watch!

RECORD WIN FOR SHARKS

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 21 (Vicky 11, Aisha 5, Serricha 4, Farzana)
MIGHTY CHICKS 1
Joma International Birmingham Women's Futsal League Premiership - July 24, 2013

THE Sharks were prepared to play 30 Degrees tonight only to find out the opposition have now pulled out the league.
Instead GWS took on Mighty Chicks, who had already been awarded an 8-0 walkover earlier in the evening.
Sharks had the option to take an 8-0 walkover themselves, or play the Chicks for a chance to score big and boost their goal difference.
The Sharks aimed to score 20, a target they exceeded by one - the 21-1 result being their biggest win in any season so far!!!
Sharks now have 22 points and a plus 12 positive goal difference, so they should hold on to third place, even if they lose to Birmingham B next week.
The first half saw Sharks reach 8-1 - and they added another 13 in the second period.
Top scorer Vicky scored a remarkable 11 goals, Aisha added 5, Serricha 4 and Farzana 1.
Thanks to Sarita for her sportsmanship!
An amazing game by all the players, however a crucial performance by Vicky and Aisha who had Sam Lewis, their new Premiership 11-a-side manager from Atherstone Ladies FC looking on from the sidelines.
The duo created chances, took their goals well and can only have impressed the watching coach.

SHARKS - MOST DEDICATED TEAM

LAST night three of the five scheduled Premiership matches ended up as walkovers.
It's really disappointing that three matches had to be cancelled due to non-fulfilment of fixtures.
If teams cannot regularly turn out, why enter in the first place?
As well as letting the league down, it is also very frustrating for the teams left without a game.
In this regard, the Great White Sharks really stand out.
I have never known them to cancel a game, somehow Salma always gets five players together to represent the team on match nights.
As well as having a great season playing-wise, the Sharks also set the standards for dedication.
Well done girls!

SIXY FROM VICKY AS SHARKS BLAST EIGHT!

Top scorer Vicky was a sensation

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 8 (Vicky 6, Dee 2)
BRACELONA 3
Joma International Birmingham Ladies Futsal League Premiership - July 17, 2013

SHARKS are up to third in the league after last night's superb 8-3 victory over Bracelona.
Although only one result had been published on the league website last night, that score was enough to confirm GWS have gone above Birmingham Futsal Club Ladies B, who were down as 8-0 losers to Under Estimated (probably a conceded game).
Wednesday's match saw Bracelona score the opening goal, but it was not long before Vicky Roe equalised with the first of her six.
The Sharks were picking up momentum steadily and two more from the Roadrunner made it 3-1 at half time.
HALF-TIME: 3-1
The Tamworth Terror was in full flow in the second half, adding three more, while Dilara Raeesah (Dee) continued her great form with two goals.
Vicky was exceptional, scoring from all angles and boosting her total for the season to around 30 goals.
Becky, Aisha and Farzana all played their part in creating chances and contributing to the great all-round team play.
This win has made history for the Sharks!
Playing in a league of mixed ability teams, GWS have achieved a highest place to date of third.
A total of 20 players have appeared for the Sharks and this is a very special moment to see the contribution of the players this season has led the team to their highest ranking so far.
"The Purpose of Life is a Life of Purpose - KeepOnBiting "
Team: Salma Bi, Farzana Hussain, Dilara Raeesah, Aisha Bi, Becky Tonteh Nash, Vicky Roe.
Next week the Sharks take on 30 Degrees.

SHARKS LEAVE NO STONES UNTURNED

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 5 (Serricha, Farzana, Vicky 2, Becky)
STONE ARMY 2
Joma International Birmingham Ladies Futsal League - July 10, 2013

IT was another winning night for the Sharks at the expense of Stone Army aka Cave Men!
Sharks made a steady start, but the Stone Army took the lead inside the first five minutes.
GWS then battled well. but also provided good balance to their game with controlled passing.
Serricha levelled with a solid strike.
Stone wasted no time in hitting back, stealing the ball and knocking in their second of the night.
However, this did not keep the Sharks at bay.
Fresh out of the sea Farzana banged the equaliser in, then with five minutes of the first half remaining, Vicky "Roadrunner" Roe netted her first after battling with a Rocky GK.
The second half started off like the first had ended, the Roadrunner Beep Beeping away, taking the ball from the centre, jinking past everyone and scoring for the second occasion.
Continuous passing and controlled defence by Dee helped Becky get her goal in too.
This result takes the Sharks up to fourth in the Premiership.
If GWS can beat Bracelona next week and Bham Futsal Club B lose to Under-Estimated (quite a possible scenario), Sharks can go third :-)

SHARKS GIVE LEADERS A GOOD BATTLE

Dee had another great game for Sharks

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 5 (Vicky 3, Serricha, Becky)
BIRMINGHAM FUTSAL CLUB LADIES 12
Joma International Birmingham Ladies Futsal League Premiership

DESPITE losing to the league leaders - who have a 100% record - Sharks put up a fine performance, especially in the first half.
Last night's result means Sharks have now scored 12 goals in two matches this season against Bham, having netted seven in the opening match of the campaign.
The game started off steadily and Bham soon went 2-0 up but the Sharks gave them a surprise with a quick goal from Vicky, who also scored another in the first half.
The battle was close and at one stage Bham were only 5-4 up, Becky and Serricha keeping the pressure on their opponents by finding the net once apiece.
Just before the interval a few errors from the keeper enabled Bham to end the first half 6-4 ahead.
HALF-TIME: 4-6.
The Sharks carried on the positive momentum in the second half.
Dee (PICTURED) and Sarita produced some brilliant passes and defended well too, but despite creating openings the Sharks could not find the target.
Bham switched players around and steadily got on top, finishing 12-5 in front, but Vicky the Roadrunner also completed her hat-trick.
It was always going to be a tough battle but tonight the Sharks realised their own improvements, especially in scoring five goals against the potential champions.
The Sharks are taking this result in their stride in the knowledge they are more than capable of beating teams a few points ahead of them.
Next week comes a clash with Stone Army.
