GLORIOUS FINISH FROM THE SHARKS

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 5 (Vicky 4, Aisha)
BIRMINGHAM FUTSAL CLUB LADIES 2
National Women's Futsal FA Cup Qualifying League - December 11, 2013
ON the night of their 100TH LEAGUE GAME, Sharks finished off their latest season in style with a 5-2 thrashing of runners-up Birmingham FCL.
GWS completed a season's double over their opponents, and the match marked a return to form for Vicky Roe, who scored four goals to finish on 32 for the season.
There was nothing to lose for the Sharks and they went out hunting for meat.
The team looked hungry for a game which was quick-paced against their second-placed opponents.
Sharks brought the house down, creating pressure, making passes and working as a unit.
The Sharks looked good. Farzana continued to stand as the solid wall in defence, denying Bham goals with brilliant tackles and stops and creating chances with her sideline kicks.
Dee was on fire. The wheels were off and she was cutting off brilliant passes, even coming so close to scoring and finding herself on the floor on many occasions!
Aisha looked game, hungry for the ball, getting the ball through in attacks and she was on target with all headers.
Vicky, our Roadrunner scoring machine, got the party started by whizzing through all four opponents and scoring a screamer within 10 minutes.
The girls kept the pressure on, chasing down everything.
Bham A attempted many strong shots but Salma was solid too, putting her body on the line and stopping some hand-breaking hits.
She stopped goals flying in from high up and sliding out to stop shots.
Salma also found herself being winded at one point as she protected the net.
A goal came from the opponents in a similar fashion to Vicky's to make it 1-1.
The Sharks, with less than three minutes left, kept on battling, Vicky finding the net and registering their second.
HALF-TIME: 2-1 SHARKS
In the second half Sharks started as intended, shooting and keeping the ball in the right areas.
A short pass made by the Bham keeper didn't quite find the intended target and Aisha stole in to smash home her first goal.
Sharks now 3-1 up.
Still upping the tempo, Sharks found their opponents prepared to battle as well both teams claiming free kicks off collisions made during play.
Vicky was on her toes with everything, finding herself potting another for 4-1.
Another goal scored by Bham A score made it 4-2 with eight minutes left.
The Sharks held on. There was no time to waste or throw the game away now, and they continued to battle and play great Futsal.
Vicky scored the final goal at a good time to make the final score 5-2.
With this result the Sharks moved up to fourth, but with the Stone Army result not available up to midnight last night, it is still unclear where GWS finish.
The Sharks walked out really proud of themselves, beating Bham A twice this season.
Salma said: "If only the previous few games had produced better results and we'd won games we drew over the season, we would have finished close to the top.
"However it was a learning curve and tonight Sharks gave a glimpse of what is come next season with THREE targets set...
1) Win the League
2) Qualify to Nationals
3) Keep on Biting!!!
Believe xx"

HONOUR IN DEFEAT

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 1 (Vicky)
THE MISSFITS 4
DESPITE finishing up the losing side the Sharks did themselves proud with a great effort against very strong opponents.
Starting 10 minutes late, The Missfits finally arrived with a team of five.
Sharks fielded their special five of Farzana, Dee, Aisha, Vicky and Salma.
It was a special night for the Roadrunner as her mum attended to spectate as the special guest.
For the first time in Vicky's 13-year football career, Mrs Roe got her first look at the Sharks battling it out.
Missfits, who have beaten champions-elect Under Estimated twice this season, proved to be very powerful opponents as expected.
The first half saw a fierce contest, both teams battling with great aggression and everyone determined to win.
A chance for Missfits almost came as Salma dived too early. The opposition striker, thinking she was certain to score, attempted a cheeky roll, but found Farzana had not given up and she made a superb save.
Vicky and Aisha battled well, both making several attempts at scoring, just not hitting the target. With five first half minutes remaining Missfits pushed forward and hit a shot which Salma would have saved, but a small deflection changed the direction of the ball and it found the net.
HALF-TIME: Sharks 0 Missfits 1.
The second half saw the Sharks feeling positive as they went in even stronger.
With the right attitude all players worked well together, keeping the pressure on.
Aisha connected with more headers and the corners were effective, however Missfits GK, who plays for West Brom, kept the attempts out.
Missfits managed to break through and in a one-on-one occasion the ball was won by the opponent who scored number two.
Vicky in reply raced forward but hit the crossbar.
Farzana also took a strong shot which was stopped by an opponent using their arm in the semi circle - a clear penalty but time was stopped as the player claimed to be bleeding from the teeth?
The ref took the injury into consideration and gave Missfits the kick off the side?
A poor call which led to the Missfits netting their third that came off a deflected save.
This however motivated the Sharks even more!! Dee cutting off a player and Farzana taking another off her feet. Both legal tackles but the attacks when Sharks mean business!
Missfits managed to slip a fourth goal from the left side as the Sharks tried to reset off a corner kick. However, the final result finished 1-4 as our very own Roadrunner scored in the final two minutes.
A well deserved goal but one of many that should have hit the net.
Gill enjoyed watching the game tonight.
A battle the Sharks were in search of all this season, not many mistakes at all and GWS walked away feeling rather proud of themselves.
Sharks stay sixth in the table with one match left against Birmingham Futsal Club next Wednesday.
NOTE: Tonight the league suddenly became known as the NATIONAL WOMENS FUTSAL FA CUP QUALIFYING LEAGUE. Why? And why change it with one game of the season left?

TV COVERAGE FOR THE SHARKS!

THIS week's new Sportswomen programme on Sky Sports featured Great White Sharks players Salma Bi, Saddiqa Shan and Vicky Roe.
The beginning of the show focused on Saddiqa and the breakthroughs she is making as an Asian woman competing in high level football in the British game.
Saddiqa was interviewed about her experiences, as was her father, who gave his blessing to his daughter's attempts to make her name as a footballer.
Salma also spoke on the show, both about Saddiqa's progress and her own football involvement. It was also mentioned about Salma's achievement in becoming the first Asian woman to represent Worcestershire at cricket.
The feature showed Solihull Ladies FC in training, and included among the players working out was Vicky, who plays for the club at 11-a-side.
Although Vicky is a prolific scorer at Futsal, she is a defender with Solihull.
Great publicity and a great show.

LATE GOALS PROVE COSTLY FOR SHARKS

Great White Sharks 1 (Sericha)
Stone Army 4
Joma International Ladies Futsal League Premiership - November 27, 2013

SHARKS were always up against it after top scorer Vicky was unable to reach the arena due to getting stuck in traffic.
Sericha came in as a replacement, making a welcome return, and she joined Salma, Dee, Farzana and Aisha in the starting line-up.
There was a good start from the Sharks, Sericha opening the scoring, but with less than a minute to play before half time Stone broke through with a top corner finish.
HALF-TIME: 1-1.
For most of the second half the score remained the same.
Aisha sustained an injury off a corner kick after being head-butted in the nose.
Braving the effects she chose to stay on.
Stone Army scored their second in the 35th minute via a deflection. With Salma down another player managed to chip it over her and into the net.
Only a few seconds apart Stone attempted a few shots and via an own goal they bagged their third.
The Sharks did look depleted with keeper Salma injuring her thumb and before the end Stone Army managed to get in their final goal.
Sharks were out of time to make any comeback but holding things level for so long and then just losing out at the end is difficult to take, but a lesson that needs to be learnt very quickly.
Sharks are now down to sixth in the league and with tough games against Misfits, who beat Under Estimated tonight, and Birmingham Futsal Club Ladies to come, GWS might have difficulty finishing any higher.

SHARKS STUNG BY BEES

Saddi (orange) was the only Sharks scorer

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 1 (Saddi)
THE BEES 5
Joma International Birmingham Women's Futsal League - November 20, 2013
A VERY disappointing night for the Sharks as they lost 5-1 to old rivals The Bees.
Yet again this was the only official league game played, the remaining three matches are ending up in walkovers.
With Salma unavailable, it was always going to be difficult for the Sharks without a regular keeper.
All players took turns between the posts.
Saddi scored the first goal, but Bees came back quickly and led 3-1 at half time.
The second half saw Sharks try to battle back with Vicky, Dee, Aisha, Jade and Saddi giving it their all, but The Bees stung with venom and ran out convincing winners.
Sharks now drop down to fifth in the league.
The Sharks also played a friendly against league leaders Under Estimated.
The final result was 11-6 to UE with Saddi scoring all six for WGS.

SUPPORT SALMA IN HER FANTASTIC CAUSE

Last year's Dodgeball stars

RAISING money in a fun way but for a serious cause is the next project on the agenda for award-winning sportswoman Salma Bi.
The Birmingham-based cricketer will stage her second annual World Dodgeball event in January next year.
All funds raised will go to Acid Survivors Trust International, a global organisation which provides crucial support to victims of acid attacks all over the world.
Over the past two years Salma has helped raised thousands of pounds for numerous charities through women-led sporting events.
These have included 10-hour and 20-hour futsal marathons, two T10 indoor World Cup Cricket tournaments and last year's World Dodgeball showpiece.
Salma's events not only collect much-needed funds for deserving causes, they also promote the importance of more female participation in sports.
The 27-year-old haemodialysis nurse, who was the first Asian woman cricketer to play for Worcestershire CC, stages her fund-raisers under two sporting organisations she runs - MAD (Making a Difference) Productions and Sporting Pathways.
Co-founder Salma had a fantastic 2013 cricket season for Worcester and her clubs Five Ways, Wall and Hawarden Park.
Her off-spinners made her leading wicket taker across the board which earned her the honour of training with the England women's squad pre their Ashes series.
Salma is very passionate about getting others involved in sport, and her hard work was recognised when she was recently a finalist in the Birmingham Sportswoman of The Year awards.
She is a past winner of the Asian Women of Achievement Sports award and the British-Asian Services to Sport accolade.
Sporting Pathways has also introduced a project called 'Get Her in The Game' which highlighted the development of Solihull Ladies footballer Saddiqa Shan, who was subsequently shortlisted for not only this year's Asian Achievers Awards but also the Asian Football Awards at Wembley.
Sporting Pathways also has its very own Futsal team the Great White Sharks which competes in the Birmingham Women's Wednesday League and recently played their 100th match.
Striker Vicky Roe, also a Solihill player, has netted over 100 goals for the team.
With five events already hosted by Sporting Pathways it's now back to business again with Dodgeball, a sport particularly big in the United States which involves players on two teams trying to throw large balls at each other while avoiding being hit themselves.
Last year saw the European Mammoths crowned 2013 champions at the inaugural Birmingham event.
Salma said: "We were delighted to greet teams from Manchester, London, Wales and Yorkshire, as well as the European Mammoths all the way from Brighton.
"Natasha Perry led the team to victory and deserved the title for all day they showed charisma and team work.
"Now we look for the next sign-ups for 2014. It is only £10 to register, all for a good cause.
"Sporting Pathways are putting across a special message - a rule in Dodgeball is NO headshots, they count as elimination.
"It will also remind us of acid attack survivors, who experience such trauma they become nothing but suicidal.
"We want to raise the awareness of providing treatment for these people.
"There are more and more victims suffering, but before they take their lives we can give them a new life. A small donation which will contribute to a surgical procedure.
"Let's raise money to make a difference and get more women involved in sports at the same time."
WORLD DODGEBALL 2014
The event will involve six teams comprising six players each.
Each team plays each other twice (total 10 games)
There will then be semi-finals and a final.
Planned teams: Arctic Whales, American Coyotes, European Mammoths, African Meerkats, Asian Cobras, Australian Kangaroos.
For your entry fee you get: food, drinks, T-shirts, medals, trophies, certificates and prizes.
Contact Salma Bi for more information via: salma.biz@hotmail.co.uk; call 0121 554 3296 or log on to www.sportingpathways.org

ANOTHER NO SHOW

ANOTHER terrible night for the league with just one out of four scheduled matches taking place.
If this continues, does the league have a future?
Great White Sharks only had 5 players available but they turned up ready to play as always, however Birmingham B failed to show - it's the same every week from them.
Result - 8-0 to the Sharks on a walkover.
Sharks' night was not completely wasted as they played Stone Army in a friendly.
At times the Sharks looked rusty, at other times exceptional.
The first half saw the Sharks finish 4-1 down, Vicky netting our only goal.
In the second half, GWS enjoyed better possession and the marking improved.
Dee and Farzana looked good in defence with Vicky and Aisha battling up top.
All players came close to scoring, firing in numerous efforts.
Vicky managed to net another, Farzana scored and Aisha, who had a better game tonight, notched her special goal with a shot from the side.
Each player did battle hard but obvious mistakes caused us problems. Final score was 7-4 to Stone.
Thankfully this was a friendly, but had it been a league game this performance would have cost the girls.
Once again the referee didn't do us justice, giving a free kick to the opponents when a ball was hit off her leg?
Heads up Sharks - we got three points which lifts us up to fourth.

SHARKS GO DOWN BATTLING

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 1 (Vicky)
UNDER ESTIMATED 4
JOMA INTERNATIONAL BIRMINGHAM LADIES FUTSAL LEAGUE - NOV 6, 2013

THIS was the only match played in the league tonight as the other three games were walkovers due to teams not turning up. What a pathetic situation.
As always, the Sharks fulfilled their fixture and came up against league leaders and probably champions to be Under Estimated.
There was a positive start by both teams, playing good Futsal.
It remained 0-0 for the first 13 minutes, but then a slight GWS slip up allowed Under Estimated to push through and score a comfortable goal.
Keeping the pressure on, UE managed to bag another before the turnaround.
HALF-TIME: 0-2
The Sharks were up against it at the start of the second half.
The likes of Saddi, struggling with her ankle, got the ball in good areas but was unable to produce a finish.
Danger player Vicky was being cut off by two defenders each time, Aisha was short of shots, whilst Dee and Farzana rotated, keeping the game lively.
Vicky did manage one goal with the help of Saddi, but Under Estimated scored another two before the end.
The final 20 seconds created a bit of humour!
Farzana somehow managed to kick the ball back into her own face, giving herself a nose bleed, the ball rolled towards Aisha, who made a short pass to Vicky, who smashed the ball back onto Aisha's head!
At least the pain was eased for Farzana with the news her beloved Arsenal had won 1-0 in Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League!
In a friendly match, Sharks were nicely warmed up and beat The Bees 8-4.
Saddi and Vicky scored two apiece in the first half, making it 4-1 at the break.
The second half saw more team work, rotation of subs and creation of better chances.
Final Score 8-4 (Saddi 4, Vicky 3, Aisha 1).
Sharks are fifth in the table, but next week are due to play Birmingham B, which should ensure an 8-0 win, so we will see where we stand then.
SHARKS: Salma, Dee, Farzana, Aisha, Saddi, Vicky.

SADDI HAT-TRICK INSPIRES SHARKS COMEBACK

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 5 (Saddi 3, Jade, Aisha)
LATE ARRIVALS 2
JOMA INTERNATIONAL BIRMINGHAM FUTSAL LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP
October 30, 2013
SHARKS recovered from two goals down to leave the Late Arrivals a dejected and well-beaten side.
There were no goals for the opening 15 minutes, but then LA took the lead from a corner, their shot finding the net via two deflections.
Fielding the same squad of seven as the previous week, Sharks were struggling to find their game.
Late Arrivals netted their second with a strong shot before Sharks hit back when Saddi rode a few tackles before finishing.
HALF-TIME: 1-2
The second half saw Sharks find more rhythm even though their players were subjected to physical tactics such as pushes and fouls, yet many refereeing decisions were remarkably given against GWS!
Jade found the equaliser, her hard work paying off.
Now at 2-2, Jade pushed even harder, creating more pressure and helping Aisha to put the Sharks in front.
Sharks kept their cool as the opposition became more frustrated.
Saddi added two more goals to complete her hat-trick and make it 5-2.
Salma said: "We needed a late comeback but it keeps the Sharks in business and even more closer to the title."

OCTOBER 2013 THIRD BEST MONTH EVER FOR BLOG HITS!

OCTOBER 2013 has already brought the third highest amount of monthly hits in the Great White Sharks blog's 23-month history.
The blog started in December 2011 and enjoyed a superb 884 hits that month.
January 2012 was even better as we counted up 1,045 hits!
However, since then the monthly hits have been nowhere near as high.....until October 2013.
Up to 1.15pm on Saturday, October 26, we had reached 523 hits for the month - the third best ever figures.
No doubt there are a number of factors in the rise.....
The biggest is surely the amount of posts we have produced with match reports, player profiles, features etc, etc.
The other reason is the success the Sharks are enjoying on the futsal court.
Also, Salma's excellent reports are helping this rise in popularity.
And also, Great White Sharks futsal team now shows up more prominently than ever in Google searches.
Right now the blog is buzzing - the best month ever!
Over 12,500 hits in total - LET'S KEEP IT GOING!

ENGLAND v WALES - WORLD CUP QUALIFIER TONIGHT (SATURDAY)

If you are home on Saturday night, October 26, please try to watch the Women's World Cup qualifier between England and Wales.
It kicks off at 7.05pm on BBC Three.
Two girls I know from North Wales are in the Wales squad, including goalkeeper Nicola Davies from Anglesey.
England are looking for new talent ahead of their bid to qualify for the World Cup so our Sharks can hopefully see and be inspired by the standard required to reach that level.

Take note Saddi & Co :)

LEAGUE TITLE RACE BLOWN WIDE OPEN!

GREAT White Sharks and The Bees blew the Premiership title race wide open with their unexpected wins on Wednesday night.
Sharks thrashed high-flyers Birmingham Futsal Club Ladies 11-4, while Bees defeated leaders Under Estimated 6-4.
Those results mean there are only four points between first place and the Sharks in fifth.
In the past, the battle to be champions of this league has always been a two-horse race, but could this be about to change?
Sharks have never finished higher than third before, but could this be the season they make a serious bid for the title?
There is no reason why not.
Look at Sharks' results so far. They only lost 6-5 to Bees and drew 7-7 with Stone Army and 6-6 against the second-placed Misfits.
With a bit of luck, and but for some very dubious refereeing decisions, Sharks could easily have turned those two draws into wins and taken a point against the Bees.
Therefore, had things gone their way, Sharks could easily have five more points and be top of the league!
Of course, there are four other good teams in the top five right now and the Sharks will have to build on their performance on Wednesday if they are to become genuine contenders.
But it is looking good right now for GWS.
They have a steady regular five in Salma, Aisha, Farzana, Dee and goal-machine Vicky, and can also call on Solihull Ladies duo Saddi and Jade, who have already proved their worth to the squad with their goals and class.
If Sharks have this same seven-strong squad available regularly for the rest of the season they will have a chance of pushing for the title - no doubt.

SHARKS WIN 100TH GAME IN AMAZING STYLE!

JOMA INTERNATIONAL LADIES FUTSAL LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP

ON the night of their 100th game the Sharks produced one of their greatest ever performances as they thrashed high-flyers Birmingham FCL.
It all began positively with Aisha scoring a special from-the-side goal for the GWS.
Getting the party started, the Sharks kept good control.
Bham A got through and scored their first, but that was quickly silenced by Jade's centre half shooter. This prompted our 100-goal legend Roadrunner into action as she scored a beauty with the help of Dee's brilliant corner kick.
Vicky, who reached 100 goals in just 38 appearances for the team last week, followed her legacy through by scoring another two to make it a hat-trick.
Saddi then made her mark and pocketed her first of the night - score 6-2.
Sharks leading comfortably, but just like in previous games, the opposition caught up.
However, Farzana and Dee produced some jawbreaking stops in defence, giving the Sharks more confidence.
Saddi and Jade, who stand out in 11-a-side football, worked well together.
Saddi used a fine piece of art in getting the ball through to score another.
Jade also got ahead and was laughing her way through as she netted her second.
Birmingham did manage another two to make the score now 8-4.
The Sharks kept the momentum going, cutting off any passes and letting Saddi net another brilliant goal for her hat-trick.
The most productive Shark yet to date Vicky Roe finished things off with two more goals to seal a fantastic Sharks win.
Sharks stay fifth but are just four points off the lead.
With Under Estimated losing again tonight, this league title race is wide open!
This was actually GWS' first win on the court this season, as their other two victories came via walkovers.
Salma said: "Perfect teamwork tonight! Good spirits and finally three points.
#keepOnBiting"
SHARKS: Salma Bi, Farzana Hussain, Dee Begum, Aisha Bi, Jade Savo Lapthorne, Saddi Shan, Vicky Roe.

THE ROADRUNNER REACHES HER TON!

SINCE Vicky Roe joined the Great White Sharks in January 2013 she has been an amazing success!
In just 38 appearances, "The Roadrunner" has scored a magnificent 100 goals!
She reached the magic ton with her sixth goal against The Misfits last Wednesday.
Vicky has chalked up 90 league goals plus 10 in friendlies for the GWS.
Here is The Tamworth Terror's season-by-season record....
SEASON 1, 2013 - 37 GOALS
SEASON 2, 2013 - 47 GOALS
SEASON 3, 2013 - 16 GOALS (SO FAR)
Vicky's greatest achievement came last season when she netted 11 goals in one game against the Mighty Chicks as the Sharks registered a record 21-1 win.
However, perhaps Vicky's finest moment came on February 6 this year when she scored a hat-trick as the Sharks defeated mighty Birmingham Futsal Club Ladies B (who were then top of the table) 3-2.
Vicky also plays 11-a-side football for Solihull Ladies, but interestingly is engaged as a defender in that form of the game.
Since joining the Sharks, Vicky has become a very popular member of the squad and is always keen to help develop the talents of the younger players.
This year has not been the easiest for Vicky personally, but she has continued to serve the Sharks well and absent friends would be so proud of her 100-goal achievement, as are we all at the Great White Sharks Futsal Club.
How fitting that on the night the Sharks will play their 100th match, Vicky has also notched up 100 goals! :)

LIST OF SHARKS GOALSCORERS

BELOW is a list of Sharks goalscorers since the team formed in 2011.
The list is accurate as possible, but as records were not kept for the first two seasons of GWS' existence, quite a few goals will be missing.
Players such as Nazma and Camilla will have scored many more goals than appears in the list below as they were prolific net finders in those first two seasons. Both Nazma and Camilla will probably be close to the 100-mark.
However, the stats of players such as Vicky, Aisha Bi and Dee are all correct as pretty accurate records have been kept of their goals since they joined the team.
Thanks to all the players who have represented the Sharks over the past seven seasons (we are now in our seventh season of competing in the Birmingham Women's Futsal League).

SHARKS WILL PLAY 100TH MATCH ON WEDNESDAY!

WHEN the Great White Sharks play Birmingham Futsal Club Ladies on Wednesday night it will be their 100th competitive match since the team formed in 2011!
Since they joined the Joma International Birmingham Ladies Futsal League two years ago, the Sharks have played 92 League matches and 7 Tournament games.
Therefore, Wednesday will mark a century of matches for the GWS!
It would be great to mark the occasion with a win!

PROFILE: FARZANA

FARZANA Hussain recently returned to play for the Sharks and she is a great asset to the team with her competitive defensive play and ability to link in midfield.

VICKY HIT SIX AS SHARKS HOLD LEADERS TO A DRAW!

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 6 (Vicky 6)
MISFITS 6
JOMA INTERNATIONAL BIRMINGHAM LADIES FUTSAL LEAGUE PREMIERSHIP
Oct 16, 2013

THERE was an Eid-al-Adha special at the Birmingham International Futsal Arena as the Sharks and previous league leaders Misfits shared a 12-goal thriller.
Sharks took a point off the leaders, but really deserved all three with the Misfits controversially equalising in the last 20 seconds.
The Sharks started positively, but Misfits scored the first goal - a blinder.
Sharks reacted well with Vicky curving in the equaliser.
Keeping the same five solid, Sharks defended well and restricted chances for the opponents, but the Misfits, who beat mighty Under Estimated the week before, did score another two.
However, Vicky hit back, scoring a beauty, and with the help of Dee's amazing passing, The Roadrunner netted a mid-air wonder goal to make it all-square at half time.
HALF-TIME: 3-3.
Like in previous games, Sharks found the referee against them, a caution being given to Salma for sliding which restricted her playing her game and then giving a penalty for a unintentional trip by Dee?
Salma saved the penalty and this made the team even more confident.
Playing stronger, the Sharks went 6-4 ahead with just two minutes remaining with Vicky netting another three to make it SIX goals in all for the Wilnecote Wonder.
Then Aisha was left on the floor following a poor tackle but the referee waved play on and Misfits looked certain to score but Farzana made a great challenge.
Dee was tackled leaving her one shoe less, but the game was still played on and this time the Misfits scored.
Vicky was pushed around and no whistle was blown, Salma had loose laces and hair but no time was stopped.
The referee then gave a bad decision against the Sharks, allowing Misfits to equalise with 20 seconds to spare and it finished 6-6.
A very disappointing performance from the referee again but the Sharks sent a message across not only to the top team, but to all teams proving how dangerous they are and how much impact they create.
Tonight the Sharks will feel they won this game knowing they are the only team to give the Misfits such an intense test which no other side has managed yet.
Salma said: "It's only the start. The victories will surely come as from now we will make every team work hard for the points.
"What a Game Sharks!!!! Six goals from our hero Roadrunner with the help of solid defender Farzana, epic assistant Dee, fireworks shooter Aisha and Solo keeper Salma :)
"Proud of my Team!!!
"We put that pressure on tonight, became the only team to make them work hard for the points.
"Well deserved girls once again a big let down by the referee but I can't fault anyone.
"You all was Amazing!!!! Dream Team #KeepOnBiting and please keep off the floor even if you lose ur shoe! ;) x..."
