GREAT WHITE SHARKS 8
BHAM VACANCY 2 LADIES 0
BIRMINGHAM FUTSAL LEAGUE - APRIL 9, 2014
SHARKS were meant to play Purple Reign, but as they have resigned from the league GWS were given an 8-0 walkover win which lifted them up to fifth in the table.
GWS played a friendly against Bayern Neverlusen, who are second in the league, so a tough game was expected.
With Salma overseas and Vicky being entertained by an unfunny comedian, the Sharks had Camilla in goal, Hameeda and Farzana, making a welcome return, in defence, and Dee and Aisha up front.
Dee had an early one-on-one chance with the keeper, who was left with an injured knee after keeping out a rocket shot from Dee-nymite.
After the Sharks lost their momentum, and although they defended well at times, they ended up 6-0 losers to a very strong side.
Dee said: "We did really well. Farzana definitely made an impact and made us realise how much we missed her.
"We were up for a battle today.
"We were motivated and kept them from scoring. Every opportunity we got we intercepted."
