SECOND HALF SLUMP COSTS SHARKS

GREAT WHITE SHARKS 3 (Aisha 2, Vicky)
BAYERN NEVERLUSEN 10
APR 30 - NATIONAL WOMENS FUTSAL FA CUP QUALIFYING LEAGUE

TONIGHT all players were instructed to go out and play for themselves.
A prize was offered for each goalscorer - stakes were high and worth the push.
The first half could not have gone any better than the Sharks would have expected!
Bringing on the force each individual fought hard!
Aisha was exceptional tonight, skilling through most of the players and scoring two minutes into the game.
The Sharks then held it together well, continuing to push on, but the opponents did get close enough to aim, shoot and score with an effort which flew wide of the keeper.
The GWS outfield team of Dee, Camilla, Vicky and Aisha kept on top, allowing Aisha to score another brilliant goal to make it 2-1.
Bayern fired into the top corner to equalise and a good pass set up their third goal.
Nevertheless, the Sharks were feeling good.
Keeper Salma then picked up a injury - straining her neck. Unsure if she could continue, she chose to play on.
HALF-TIME: 2-3.
Hameeda came on for the second half and the players between them decided to put Camilla up front with Aisha, which proved a big mistake as the whistle blew.
Neverlusen grabbed two quick goals before the Sharks could reset.
This caused a downer on the team and they conceded another two quickly to make it 7-2.
It was not over yet as each player still worked as a unit, assisting Vicky to score and reduce the arrears.
However, Sharks were too far behind and a battle lost created more challenges as the more experienced team scored another three to finish 10-3 victors.
Salma said: "We were applauded by our opponents tonight as they felt and admired our 30 minutes of hunger, but that 10-minute slump at the start of the second half cost us.
"Lesson learned - keep things simple, don't change if we have the advantage and by putting a prize on each goal each player has something to work for.
"Looking forward to applying a full 40-minute challenge next week."
Sharks are now without a legitimate win (excluding walkovers) since February 5.
They would love to end the season with a victory over leaders Birmingham Futsal Club Ladies next Wednesday.
Bham need just a point to win the league title, but if Sharks could grab a surprise win it would open the door for Bayern to finish champions.
