SHARKS FIGHT TILL THE BITTER END

Things changed when Dee went up front

BAYERN NEVERLUSEN 10
GREAT WHITE SHARKS 3 (Dee 2, Vicky)
NATIONAL WOMENS FUTSAL FA CUP QUALIFYING LEAGUE - FEB 26, 2014
SHARKS finished up well beaten but played much better than the final scoreline suggests against strong opponents.
With Saddi and Aisha both missing with ankle injuries, and Camilla also absent, Sharks fielded a team of Salma, Farzana, Hameeda, Dee and Vicky.
The game started off well for Sharks, even though the opposition got ahead.
Sharks player Dee scored a great goal, but as the game progressed Bayern Neverlusen got stronger and by half time they led 7-1.
GWS made a formation change putting Dee up front alongside Vicky, which worked well in the second half.
Dee impressed in attack and scored her second, and even though Bayern went 10-2 up, Vicky pulled another one back - her 22nd goal of this up and down season for the Sharks.
Although the final score was 10-3 this did not reflect the effort the Sharks put in.
They kept fighting till the bitter end and perhaps deserved more for their endeavours.
It must also be appreciated that Bayern are a very strong team probably capable of finishing at least second.
Also to Sharks' credit is the fact that once again they fielded a team. They always do this whatever the circumstances when other teams decide not to play because they obviously feel they cannot win.
Sharks can improve on this latest display, but their spirit is never in question.
It should also be noted they only lost the second half 3-2. On another night against Bayern, and if they could play like they did in the second half the whole game, Sharks could have the beating of excellent opponents.
