GREAT WHITE SHARKS 8 (Vicky 5, Dee 2, Salma)
ABCDE FC 8
CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON 3 2014
SHARKS proved in this game that as well as being able to thrash most teams in the Championship, they can also fight to get a result against the better sides.
GWS made a slightly rushed start, lacking in composure and looking tense.
ABCDE FC's top player proved a real handful, scoring some fine goals to ensure the Sharks were 5-2 down at half time, Vicky and Dee scoring for GWS.
Vicky's goal was her 200th for the Sharks - a remarkable record!
Down but far from out, Sharks were in no mood to let this game slip away.
In the second half, Sharks pulled together and smashed in six goals!
The girls continued their battling ways with Vicky, Dee and Salma getting the goals, the keeper and captain scoring after a long clearance was deflected into the net.
Camilla and Aisha came very close to scoring too, but made the crucial assists that brought the Sharks to 7-7. Then ABCDE edged in front 8-7.
Only 30 seconds were left to make the final touches.
Camilla kicked a ball out wide straight to Vicky. Both Dee and Aisha were blocked by defenders so with the right instincts and Camilla shouting "Vicky take it on your own", the RoadRunner did exactly that!
Past three players on a roadkill and Vicky smashed it from wide into the net to secure the draw with six seconds to spare.
Salma said: "What a Game! Sharks!!!!! Phew!! We chased that one down like blood! Sorry for turning up late which I know affected the start.
"Despite such a sloppy start we brought it up a notch and played ball. We know this is our season - a win or draw we take something from each game.
"Once we hit 7-7 they ABCDE moved ahead, but our very own RoadRunner scored the equaliser with only six seconds to spare!
"Congratulations Vicky you have now passed your 200th goal mark!! What an achievement!
"Girls - brilliant stuff from all of you. We didn't give up. Once we stopped talking and telling each other, kicked the frustrations out, we played superb futsal! Well done girls x"
Sharks remain unbeaten and top of the Championship after this result.
