THE Great White Sharks were back to full strength in the Birmingham Women's Futsal League last night - and it showed in their results.
The 6-4 league win over Birmingham United was awesome, as was their determination in the friendly against Stingers which finished 4-4.
With striker Camilla (Parker Goals) back in the side along Nazma up front, the Sharks will always have bite, but it is of course a team game and starting from Salma in goal, through the defence and midfield, and up to the forwards, Sharks will achieve everything they achieve as a team.
RESULTS - SEASON TWO
Birmingham United (LGE) W 6-4
Stingers (FRIENDLY) D 4-4
Birmingham United (F) L 6-8
Fresh of the Fold (LGE) L 4-7
Stingers (LGE) W 8-1

SHARKS PRODUCE SOME LATE BITE
GREAT WHITE SHARKS 6 BIRMINGHAM UNITED 4 (League game)
STINGERS 4 GREAT WHITE SHARKS 4 (Friendly)
THE Great White Sharks produced a fantastic late rally to beat Birmingham United 6-4 in the Birmingham Women's Futsal League tonight.
In the first half, Sharks were unable to take their chances while United snapped up one of their opportunities to lead 1-0 at the break.
With about 15 minutes left, Sharks still trailed by a single-goal but then a dynamic late burst of power play enabled Salma's Lionhearts to claim the win.
Strikers Nazma and Camilla scored two goals apiece and there were single goals from Farzana and Nahilla.
Salma was also in fine form in goal, while Aisha came on and performed very well. When the Tiger Shark scores her first goal, we will all party with many bags of M and Ms and Skittles.
There was also a debut for a new player, Faeeza, who looked a good prospect.
"We defended like the Great Wall of China but attacked like the Great White Sharks," said wordsmith Salma in another of her famous quotations.
"I am so proud of my team. I don't know what it is about us, we just keep going and so often strike late goals. I guess it's just all about determination and belief and never giving up."
As opposed to last week, when they had no replacements, Sharks had three subs this week and that helped their balance and rhythm.
In an earlier friendly, Sharks drew 4-4 with the Stingers. Again they were 1-0 and 2-1 down in this one, but showed real heart to share the honours.
Nazma and Camilla, who was available this week after missing last week's game, both scored two goals each in this friendly.
Salma concluded: "I guess we are the masters of the comeback!"

NAZMA SCORES FIVE AS SHARKS COME ALIVE!
TONIGHT saw the Great White Sharks play Birmingham United B in a friendly.
Although the score ended 8-6 to Birmingham that only tells half the story.
Sharks were without two of their best regular players, including goal-getter Camilla, but despite this GWS came back from 6-1 down to finish only two goals behind at the end.
Captain Salma said: "Birmingham United has five subs so rotated well, however we had no sub but dedicated players. The seniors stepped up and supported the juniors today."
Two of those juniors who played were Salma's sister Aisha (Shark - loves wildlife TV shows) and Anisha (Ace of Pace - Piranha).
What a star performance too from Nazma who was the main striker but scored FIVE goals. Yaroo! And also well done to Farzana for scoring one.
Goalkeeper Salma reported that her concentration was not at its best in the first half but she tightened things up in the second.
Maybe the time is coming for Salma to have a spell as an outfield player, she has the eye of the tiger and could be a star of the midfield or in attack, but that is not Davy Dolphin's decision (splash!).
Proud of you all again Sharks.

SHARKS LOSE AFTER FLYING START
GREAT WHITE SHARKS failed to build on a good start when they lost 7-4 to Fresh of the Fold in the Birmingham Women's Futsal League tonight.
Nazma got to Sharks off to a flyer when she scored inside the first 60 seconds!
But that was as good as it got for the Sharks as the talented Fresh team showed the better attacking play to win the match.
Sharks played Fresh twice last season, losing 7-2 and drawing 7-7, so our girls certainly need to target FOTF as a team to beat in the future. Something to aim for.
The season started off so well for Sharks when they beat Stingers B 8-1, but they could not follow up with another win.
Nonetheless that's futsal - you can't win every game and if you take positives from every defeat it's something to build on.
Don't forget to sign up for Salma and Gemma's futsal marathon on March 10. We need 40 girls to take part in the 10-hour non-stop event which will raise money for the National Autistic Society and also Salma's T10 Cricket Tournament in Birmingham on April 28.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR-EIGHT WIN !
GREAT WHITE SHARKS made an amazing start to season two of the Birmingham Women's Futsal League last night.
The girls defeated Stingers B 8-1, a bigger win than they managed in the whole of last season.
Camilla and Nazma scored four goals apiece, but this was a great all-round team performance from the Sharks with goalkeeper Salma in super form.
This was just the sort of start GWS needed to give them great confidence for the season ahead.
Salma is collecting names to take part in next month's women's Futsal Marathon at the Birmingham Internnational Futsal Arena.
It is hoped 10 hours of non-stop playing can be achieved, a feat other venues across the UK will be encouraged to try to beat. The target is to involve 40 women's players in the event.
